CHRISTIAN NESVADBA — Christian Nesvadba was considered one of Europe's most promising artists. His brilliant paintings used color and texture to bring life to canvas. Nesvadba was born to paint. His eye for color, movement and mood were exquisite, and his riotous Impressionist flowers were beginning to receive the attention they merited.
Born in 1977 in Vienna, Christian's first tutor was his father, the celebrated landscape artist Gerhard Nesvadba (also featured at The Art Shop). Christian Nesvadba's gift was recognized early in school and consequently he transferred to a school specializing in drawing and engineering. These fields were too rigid and technical for this emerging artist.
Nesvadba was discovering his own voice, after years of absorbing his father's knowledge. His first major award was the prestigious SalzBurger Kulturfonds Prize, earned in 1997 when the artist was just twenty years old. Two one-man shows in Salzberg and Linz followed in 1998. Christian Nesvadba was featured in a one-man exhibition in Vienna in 1999, and his U.S.A. debut was at the New York Art Expo 2000.
