Spring Is Here….Almost

Hi.  Lenny here -giving Arlene some well-deserved, good behavior time off from being our official blogger.

Spring is here.  I know, not officially as of this writing, but I declare that spring is here.  ‘Cause I’m tired of the cold, tired of getting colds and tired of being cooped up in the house. So there!

And now that spring is here, that means outdoor tennis, cycling without having to dress like I’m going skiing and it means fresh new art at The Art Shop.

It also means we are starting to gear up for a new year of special events, great artist shows and lots of new art.

We love receiving and opening shipments of new art.  It’s like getting a treasure trove of gifts for your birthday. (Speaking of which, mine was March 5th.  But that’s ok, I’m sure it just slipped your mind)

Some of the new art just arriving for spring includes new originals by Erich Paulsen and Gerhard Nesvadba.  These are stunning florals, Tuscan landscapes, boats and market scenes.  And if you haven’t seen the work of North Carolina artist Philip Philbeck, you must come by and see several new pieces or check out the website  His dramatic, sweeping landscapes that lean toward the Hudson River School are nothing short of captivating.

Philbeck will be appearing for a one-man show on May 3rd.  This is one you won’t want to miss.  And back by popular demand this November will be Paulsen and Nesvadba for an encore performance of one of our most successful shows ever.

So welcome to spring! A time of renewal, a time of optimism and time to get back on the bike and the tennis court, a year slower at both but it sure beats watching tv.
