APPRAISAL SERVICES
The Art Shop offers appraisal services for insurance purposes,
estate planning, charitable donation, tax purposes, divorce settlements
or simply plain curiosity.
All appraisals are confidential and are prepared in adherence to ethical standars set forth by the Appraisers Association of America.
CRITERIA FOR DETERMINING VALUES OF ART
The valuation of artwork and antiques is based on a combination
of facts--scientific methods, economic factors and highly subjective
aesthetic opinions.
Whenever works by well known artists are being appraised, the
appraiser generally traces the historical sales performance of the
artist's work in the marketplace in order to derive general pricing.
Always considered is the artist's objective data pertaining to the work,
along with subjective factors pertaining to the work's quality and
historical significance in the art world.
OFFICIAL APPRAISAL
The official appraisal is an extensive documentation of your
work of art. It includes a history and market valuation in order to
determine a true value. This appraisal will be accepted by official
agencies and is necessary for insurance or tax purposes.
PRICING
Cost: Approximately $400 - $500 per piece. Discounts available for multiple works.

What Lenny Loves
The Art Shop’s Inc. owner and president, Lenny Dolin, is an avid cyclist, tennis player and art lover, but unlike a lot of people who are either left brain or right brain, Lenny is also adept at debits and credits and anything to do with accounting. What makes many people’s eyes glaze over comes easily to Lenny. “I just know enough to be dangerous,” he says. Modesty aside, thank heavens he’s good at it because a businesses can’t survive without someone in control of its finances. He pays all the bills and the salaries of our incredible staff and keeps The Art Shop on a steady financial keel.
